13 September 2007: Hurricane Humberto blasted across the southeast Texas coast, packing winds as strong as 135km/h, reported The Courier Mail (14/9/2007, p. 26).

Hurricane may spawn tornadoes: The US National Hurricane Centre said the category one storm was moving towards Louisiana after slamming ashore on the southeast coast of Texas. Just hours earlier, Humberto had grown from a tropical storm to the third hurricane of the 2007 Atlantic season as it swirled over the Gulf of Mexico. The season’s two other hurricanes mushroomed into maximum category five storms before hitting Mexico and Central America. The latest storm may trigger tornadoes in Texas and Louisiana.
