BP Australia to terminate its supply agreement with Balllina Petroleum

Posted by gasweek on 20 September, 2007

BP has severed ties with a North Coast petrol company after its investigations found sub-standard fuel was being sold as the premium Product, reported The Daily Telegraph (10/7/2007, p. 7).

BP Ultimate suspended after media sting: Eleven BP petrol stations run by Ballina Petroleum suspended sale of BP Ultimate brand after a media sting. BP Australia said the deliberate misrepresentation of its products had forced it to sever its relationship with Ballina Petroleum and to take steps to terminate its supply agreement. Ballina Petroleum has vowed to make it up to the community and apologised to its customers for any inconvenience. BP is now considering alternative arrangements to ensure all grades of fuel remain available in the region.
