Posted by gasweek on 26 September, 2007

According to Scott Rochfort in The Sydney Morning Herald (22/9/2007), Sydney Gas impressed the market during the week after announcing the resignation of its chief executive, Bob Neil.

The two-week Neil era: Neil, headed the company for an epic two weeks. When Neil was appointed to the job on 3 September, Sydney Gas chairman John Saunders gloated about the new appointment. “He is a proven leader with a track record in building operating teams and leading organisations into new commercial projects and we look forward to the contribution he will make.”

Company mum on payment details: The company declined to detail whether Neil had already completed his mission after only two weeks. Nor if he received a severance package. According to details provided by the company on Neil’s $350,000 a year (or $13461 a fortnight) salary, he was meant to give six months notice.
