As price uncertainty continued, Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) December 2007 futures — already at an all-time record for this time of year — hit US843c a bushel last Friday, according to Colin Bettles, reported Farm Weekly (13/9/2007, p. 1). $145/t rise this calendar year: Figures released by ProFarmer Australia on Monday revealed multi-grade Australian Premium White (APW) wheat was fetching $376/t, up $15 from Friday. That figure represented a staggering $61/t increase from August 31 and an incredible $145 skyrocket from January 19, Farm Weekly reported. Feed barley was also paying a whopping $390/t on Monday, while canola was yielding a handsome $533/t. ABB was also offering an amazing $420/t for malting barley delivered to port. The giant price spike has seen feed barley climb $260/t since the start of the year.
